Major milestone achieved on the Mardie Salt and Potash Project in Western Australia, with the successful demobilisation of our 'Canti-Traveller' system.
Following the completion of the 2.43 km approach jetty constructed from the Traveller, our marine spread—comprising the MCD914 Jack-Up barge and supporting floating barges - efficiently removed all parts of the Traveller in under 10 days.
With an impressive largest lift of nearly 150 tonnes, our newly developed large module demobilisation method significantly accelerated the process.
This successful operation has enabled us to quickly advance to the next stage of marine construction, including incline conveyor setup, jetty head, berthing, and shiploader structures.
Congratulations to our team for delivering this milestone safely and efficiently! We look forward to continuing our work on this exciting project for BCI Minerals.

We recently poured the first calcined clay concrete on an Australian rail project.
Used as a substitute for cement in concrete, it lowers greenhouse gas emissions significantly.
A defining moment for our project team as we celebrated not just one, but three outstanding milestones on the Warkworth to Snells project in Auckland recently!
1. Final Piece in Place – we installed the pipe bend into the reception shaft, seamlessly connecting Drive Two and Drive Three. With that, the entire 5km transfer pipeline is now fully complete!
2. 100% QA Success – we successfully passed the hydrotest on Drive Three, meaning the entire pipeline has now met every quality assurance standard. A testament to the dedication and precision of our team.
3. Practical Completion Secured – and in a crowning achievement, we have officially received practical completion from Watercare! This milestone is the result of two and a half years of tireless effort, innovation, and teamwork.
A massive shoutout to everyone who played a role in making this happen!

We're excited to share that we have not one, not two, but three projects shortlisted for the 2025 Australian Construction Achievement Award (ACAA).
This is our industry’s highest and most sought after accolade - it's like the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and the Logies all rolled into one!
McConnell Dowell is represented by the New Bridgewater Bridge project in Tasmania and the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication project in Victoria. The latter completed as part of the Djilang Alliance.
Our building brand, Built Environs, is represented by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Stage 3 Redevelopment project in South Australia.
About the Award
Presented by the Australian Constructors Association and Engineers Australia, the ACAA recognises not only construction and engineering excellence but also how these projects are shaping a more progressive and sustainable construction industry. Overall, seven projects were shortlisted.
Australian Constructors Association CEO Jon Davies said this year marks a record number of finalists, reflecting the industry’s commitment to building a better future.
“This year’s finalists represent an impressive array of transport and infrastructure projects delivered across Australia,” said Mr Davies.
“These projects showcase smarter, more sustainable ways to deliver projects. From reducing environmental impact to prioritising worker wellbeing, diversity and skills development, these contractors are leading the way.”
Engineers Australia CEO Romilly Madew AO said the 2025 contenders stand out for their ability to integrate engineering ingenuity with sustainability and community-centric development.
“The Australian Construction Achievement Award finalists represent the best in Australian engineering, demonstrating how collaboration, technology and strategic planning can drive transformational projects that connect and strengthen communities,” said Ms Madew.
The winner will be announced at a black-tie awards dinner in Brisbane on Wednesday, 6 August 2025,
