McConnell Dowell is pleased to announce that the McConnell Dowell-HEB Joint Venture has been awarded a contract by Watercare to upgrade the Pukekohe WWTP in South Auckland. This award follows the successful completion by the Joint Venture of New Zealand’s largest wastewater upgrade since 2000 at the Mangere wastewater treatment plant.

Similar to the award-winning Mangere BNR WWTP upgrade, this contract includes construction of three reactors, a chemical dosing facility, pump station, inlet works, and associated interconnecting pipework. This upgrade at Pukekohe will allow Watercare to meet the demands of a growing population by doubling the capacity of the plant. It will also improve water quality into the Parker Lane Stream – a tributary of the Waikato River.
