We're delivering the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline project for the Gladstone Area Water Board and Queensland Government, enabling long-term water security for urban and industrial customers in the region.
The design and construct project is being delivered as a 50/50 joint venture with partner, BMD.
The project comprises an approximately 117 kilometre pipeline, a water treatment plant, reservoirs and pumping stations. It will provide further water security for the area and support for the emerging hydrogen industry in the Gladstone region in Queensland.
A core component of our winning bid was our commitment to local content. Lasting legacies will be left in the Gladstone and Rockhampton regions through the employment of a diverse workforce including a $10 million commitment to suppliers and businesses owned by First Nations Australians, 10,000 hours for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce participation, as well as trainees and apprentices to make up 15% of the workforce hours.
Major construction will start late 2022 and the new pipeline will be completed in 2025-26.
