Innovate - Reconciliation Action Plan

17 16 McConnell Dowell | Built Environs Reconciliation Action Plan | Innovate McConnell Dowell, in undertaking our Innovate RAP, will seek to continue this journey, increasing the cultural awareness of our staff, supply chain partners and improving the knowledge and observance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols and dates of significance. This will ensure we create a solid foundation for our future RAPs to be meaningful, mutually beneficial and sustainable. The opportunity for us to continue telling local stories through our projects is something we are keen to keep building on during Innovate. We believe for us and the many communities we work in, this is something that allows us to help local communities respectfully facilitate a connection to First Nations and local stories long after our projects are completed. • Deeper engagement with our Alliances and Joint Ventures projects • Stronger and more consistent focus on communications for RAP Innovate • Improved focus on tracking and reporting on actions • Work closely with Reconciliation Australia to ensure we are getting the most out of Innovate • Continue to create a supportive culture to embrace this next phase of reconciliation • Build on and strengthen our relationships with First Nations people right around Australia. Learnings and areas for improvement for Innovate: Being involved in the RAP process as an Aboriginal, it has given me the belief that we as a company are heading in the right direction.
