The Company is pleased to advise that Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has awarded McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd the design and construction contract for berth 3 at their existing FMG Anderson Point Iron Ore Export Facility in Port Hedland.
The expansion project will provide an additional 400m of wharf superstructure, 7 berthing dolphins, navigational aids and associated mechanical components to duplicate the existing material handling system to supply a new ship-loader. McConnell Dowell previously constructed Berths 1 and 2 for FMG at Anderson Point.
Site construction activities will commence in early 2011 with project completion scheduled for November 2011.
